The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, also known as Mount Charleston, offers opportunities for year-round fun including hiking, camping, and picnicking, as well as snow-based activities like skiing and sledding in the winter.

Charleston's peak reaches 11,900 ft. The lower foot hills are covered with pinion pine and juniper trees. There is an wide variety of wildlife in the area including Rocky Mountain Elk, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer and many others.

When you visit, don't miss the opportunity to explore the mountain with professional guidance. Join an interpretive hike with a naturalist to learn about the plants and animals unique to the Spring Mountains, attend a campfire program to learn how the mountains were formed, or trek through the snow on a guided snowshoe hike.
