The White Pine Public Museum intends to operate the drugstore as a free, public museum dedicated to preserving the small town drugstore, pharmacy, soda fountain era. At the mid point of our century, such institutions were identified with every small town across the nation. Each town having one or more of these drug stores. The majority of our population over 30 years of age has spent time in stores like McGill Drug Co. They were a part of the American experience. Yet, in the last few decades, they have all but disappeared! The large chain-store drug stores have replaced most of them, even in the rural areas. It is the White Pine Public Museums' intent to preserve this one largely as you see it.
